  1. I have a 2003 ES300 on the Dallas area. When it is hot outside (over 88/90) and the climate control is set to Automatic, the fan seems to run too long and too loud. Also varies widely in speed - the LED segments on the dash show it at medium (3 of 5) speed most of the time, but from the sound it is varying almost constantly. If it was an automatic transmission I would say it was surging or seeking, looking for the correct gear. At times it happens when the exterior temp is 78-80 and the cabin is set to 74 - not a wide difference but it still races the fan... Almost always happens during daytime - bright sun - seldom at night. Dealer has checked it repeatedly, replaced the cabin temp sensor once, and says it is operating normally. Thanks in advance for any help or suggestions.
  2. Never heard of a ceramic tint......who makes it & what's it all about? give us the website of the company. I know that 'metalized' is about the best one can use. B) ← Brand is Huber Optik. Can't find a web site for them. Ceramic for sure - blocks a lot of the heat and lesss light, they say. Looking for any experience with them and any interference in remote and radio antennas on the rear window. ← Never heard of the stuff personally, & I'd be a little apprehensive if there is no info on the net. I'd stick with the metalized & sratch resistant stuff from either 3M or Llumar. Just my 2 cents. ← Found their web site at www.huperoptik.com - there was a typo in my original search - put in huBer instead of huPer... From the specs looks good, and the do all the cars at a Lexus dealer in Singapore. Claim to have no interference with electronics since they are not metalic... will go to the one local shop that handles them and see what the $$ is for an ES-300.

  4. A buddy has an Audi black-on-black... not the best for Texas in summer. He added ceramic window tint - blocks less light but much more heat. Any experience with Lexus and Ceramic? Any problem with antenna or defrost on the rear window? TIA
  5. Thanks very much for the link - looks like what I am looking for. Appreciate the follow-up.
  6. Thanks for the suggestions. I was looking for some personal experience to sort through the "dart board" list of solutions from Google or Whitney. cheers
  7. I park in a couple tight spots and would like edge guards to keep my car from dinging others and from getting the door edges chipped. Clear, or matched to the pearl-white of the paint job, and shaped to fit - where to find? Thanks in advance - JS
  8. Thanks - I have to believe it is possible, but when I asked the service writer at the dealer, he just said - "Not adjustable, but when you leave the car for 30 seconds with no one inside and all doors and trunk closed it locks automatically." Well - it doesn't - I have left it for an hour unattended in the drive and it is still unlocked when I get back. Only locks automatically if I unlock with the remote and then don't open a DOOR, not trunk, within 30 secs. Guess I had a newbie on the service drive. Going to write the service manager at the dealer with a list of things I am not crazy about and see what then can do. Mostly a great car - some things I like better in my '95 Volvo... Thanks for your encouragement.
  9. 2003 ES 300 - Can I have the dealer change the setting on the remote locking so I can hit the "lock" button with doors and/or trunk open and the car locks when they are all closed? I had this on my '95 Volvo and it allowed me to lock and pocket the remote before filling up my hands with stuff to carry in. Now I have to keep the key out 'till all the doors and trunk are shut... Thanks in advance.
