    I have seen this many moons ago and can't come up with an expert answer. But what memory I do recall is that it is an emergency pull for someone locked in the trunk. After a series of children getting accidentally locked in their trunks some manufacturers put in the safety pull. You should be able to find the details at Lexus.com for the Owners Manual.

    Thanks, Paul. I will look for the cable to which it attaches.

  2. Okay, somewhere someone suggested steel wool, and it worked wonders. I am now pleased with them again. Then I backed into a landscape rock, and now one is smashed badly. I am finding oem replacements around $85/ea. Gibson does seem to make a good replacement product, and at a good price compared to oem, but I like how the oem pipes match better the roundedness of the body styling.

    Thanks to all.

    Hello everyone,

    I have 2005 ES330 is reaching 60K for service. I have done the following but interested to see anyone has any additional list that I need;

    Replace Oil and Filter

    Replace Air Filter

    Replace Cabin Filter

    Rotate tires and balance.

    Check and Replace Brake Pads

    Check Transmission Fluid level and color - still looks good replaced 30K but do I need to get another service, please comments.

    Does anyone know where is the fuel filter and PVC valve, do they required replacement?

    Dealer said, I don't need to replace the spark plugs until 120K, what do you think?
