Hey people, I was wondering if anybody knows how to cancel the security on the dash unit. I recently purchased my GS300 from an auction and can't trace back the original owners to get the 3 digit code. I checked my repair service manual and it says to look at the owner's manual, but it doesn't say how to reset the security code. I contacted Lexus and they want me to bring in the car, but I am afraid they're going to slap me with a bill for a hundred bucks or more just for some stupid code. Also, I was wondering where the amplifier is for my speakers. I bought a GS w/o the CD changer and was thinking of just buying a new in dash unit w/ a custom install since the DIN is big. I am probably going to buy new components for the front and replace the rear sub, since earlier posts said that the amp is good. Was the head unit running the components and the amp just the sub? Anybody else tried changing their audio system and have any good suggestions? Also, how hard was the install, was it just plug and play or did you have to rewire your system? Thanks. Sid

Hello fellow Lexus owners, I just bought a 93 Lexus GS300 at an auction for a cool G w/ 127K miles. But, the car has some serious issues. The dashboard lights don't stay on. When you start the car, the speedometer and everything lights up, but then it shuts off. Same thing happens with the lights for the components (i.e. A/C lights, stereo, etc.). But, the weird thing is, sometimes the lights do stay on, and other times it doesn't. Same thing with the A/C. Sometimes the A/C works and blows cold air, and other times it doesn't. I have no control over it, but it seems like whenever the dash lights work, so does the A/C. I think it may be something wrong with the control panel for the A/C, but have no clue about dash lights. Also, I think I might need a new master switch for my windows. The two rear windows don't work, but the driver and passenger does. But, the driver can't control the passenger side. Does anybody else have or had similar problems to mine and know about how much the parts and labor would cost? Any help would be appreciated. My e-mail is Rustah218@aol.com also. Sid
