I don't think the problem was you but rather this situation where the vehicle accelerates on it's own,primarily when the footbrake is either gently applied or released. My father has just had the same situation with his 99 LS400 resulting in rear ending the vehicle in front of him. Because of this, he was charged by the police. Hardly seems fair, especially at the age of 82. Check out the NHTSA web site you will find many similar cases..Lexus do not know what causes this and, consequently, how to fix. I have appealed to the NHTSA and Lexus to take action before someone gets seriously injured. Complain to Lexus and the NHTSA. The next time might result in a serious injury and you could have a hard time convincing the police that it was a mechanical defect and not your neglience.
