I am new to this forum and I have a question regarding the sub replacement. I have replaced all the speakers in my lexus and it sounds much better already; althoough I would like to replace the sub, this is rubbish and sounds terrible!
I am keeping the same amp and using the existing line speakers output to drive a new wsub; the question is, the sub has 4 wires connected to the sub which has 2 x 2 ohm coils speaker. I am not sure if the amp is driving a 4 ohm load ( 2 coil in series) or ( 1 ohm , 2 coil in parallel). I need to know when I buy the new active sub and using the exisitng speaker output ( 4 wires from the exisitng amp) how to connect the active sub.
Do I use all 4 wires? is the current system using 2 channels outputs bridged (mono amplifier) to drive the 2 coil sub?
