Hello to the LEXUS OWNERS FORUM!

I am 85 years old and bought my 2010 Lexus RX450H brand new and never had a single problem UNTIL RECENTLY!

I HAVE THE FOLLOWING SCANNED CODES:

POAA6 - HYBRID BATTERY VOLTAGE SYSTEM ISOLATION FAULT

POA7A - GENERATOR INVERTER PERFORMANCE

HERE ARE THE SYMPTOMS:

1.  DRIVE FOR 30 MINUTES OR SO AND THE "CHECK HYBRID SYSTEM" WARNING COMES ON

2.  DRIVE FOR THE NEXT 30 MINUTES - "CHECK BRAKE WARNING LIGHT" COMES ON AND "4 WHEEL DRIVE MALFUNCTION" WARNING COMES ON AND THE CAR HAS NO POWER

3.  I STOP - DISCONNECT THE STARTER BATTERY IN THE REAR - TAKE OFF THE CONNECTORS (positive and negative) WAIT 5 MINUTES AND RECONNECT - AND THE CAR STARTS AND DRIVES GREAT

WITHOUT ANY WARNING LIGHTS!

UNTIL THE CYCLE REPEATS ITSELF.

CAN ANYONE PLEASE HELP ME?

I AM SURE SOME CLUB MEMBER EXPERIENCED THE SAME PROBLEM AND FOUND A SOLUTION.

MY EMAIL IS:  bha@rogers.com

Thanks in advance!

The POAA6 code is a high voltage drain on the batteries. I would take the car in for a checkup. These cars are highly advance and monitor all kinds of things. The fact that you are getting a code is telling you that something is wrong. If you've been driving it since 2010 and no problems that's pretty good. It probably will not take a technician an hour to trouble shoot the problem and give you a fix. I have a 2013 RX450 and I would be taking mine in to someone qualified as I know I'm not.
