Portable Audio Players in USB input (iPod input)

2011 ES350 / Non Nav Stereo

I have had my iPod in my car for several years. Very convenient... I feel like the iPod may be on it's last leg though, as it requires frequent reboots... Aside from classic iPods, what other portable players are able to connect to the USB input, and be utilized the "iPod" dash controls? Would an iPod touch work in the same way as the classic? Or other more high end players like iBasso, or Astell & Kern? Cheers!
