OnlyLexARound Posted May 14, 2004 Posted May 14, 2004 Hello all......I have a 93 SC 400 never any problems till yesterday 93,785 miles. Nothing to serious I think it's just the thermostat, but then I read something about putting air pockets in my cooling system, so I guess I'm asking, since I'm changing the hoses and changing my antifreeze and the theromatsat, what should I know about refilling the fluid? I guess I can't just dump it in there and go?
99lsguy Posted May 14, 2004 Posted May 14, 2004 Always premix 50/50 first using toyota long life coolant and distilled water. You'll need about 2 gallons of each.... You may be able to fill the block thru coolant filler plug located on or around the throttle body. Then top off radiator and reservoir. Start car and let idle for a bit, then maintain 2000-2500 rpm for a few more; until warm with heater ON FULL for 5-10 minutes total. top off reservoir with 50/50 mix coolant
