How is the trim panel below the shift lever removed on my 2006

How is the lower/floor level trim panel below the shift lever removed on my 2006 400H? (I am pulling the front carpet out of the vehicle)

Another posting said you had to lower the panel under the steering column and also the glove box to access two screws on each side. I'm trying to do the same thing in my 08 RX400H because I dropped the two radio screws and socket into the hole from Hell... Good luck.
