downunda Posted May 4, 2017 Posted May 4, 2017 Hi, I am a little desperate. I am attaching some images, hoping someone will be able tell me what these parts are and how I can fix it. I have away traveling and did not realize that mice have gotten under the hood and bitten away some think tubing and some plastic parts too! I can take it to the dealer but I want to know what is it that I need to replace, whether I can drive with it (seems so) and if I can fix it myself. Where the thin tube connects to the round cap part, part of it is chewed off ! One of the tubes goes down under somewhere. Is this something a mechanic can fix easily? Any estimates?
gbhrps Posted May 4, 2017 Posted May 4, 2017 downunda, The car should be driveable as is. I suspect that there has been little damage to the intake system. Get the car to a mechanic to ckeck out what needs replacing, hoses and whatever plastic pieces you're concerned about. Should you need new plastic sections for the intake, go to a wrecking yard for the parts, as new from Lexus will break the bank. Good Luck!
downunda Posted May 5, 2017 Author Posted May 5, 2017 Thank you, that was what I was thinking. It seems the car needs to be hoisted to replace one of the tubes. Thanks
