lbaynard Posted March 19, 2017 Posted March 19, 2017 I have a 1994 Lexus GS300. I have replaced the starter which was bad. I have no power in the wire connecting to the start when the key is turned to start. The relays are good. I have test the wire from the ignition using voltmeter. I have found the wire that show power only when key is turn to start. That shows good. This indicate that the ignition switch is good. Can any offer some insight into this? Could the wire that clips into starter we bad?
Lexus_DK Posted March 20, 2017 Posted March 20, 2017 Check to see if your battery is good. Are you getting 12.6 Volts. Is the battery health good and is the CCA of the battery within range? Perform a Voltage drop test. And check to see if the starter is installed correctly for a proper ground. Go back and check your work of when you installed the starter. Is the Signal wire and power cable to starter have a good connection?
