martin sleeman
Hi there. Firstly, thanks so much for your time and for such a helpful website. I've owned a 1992 es 300 for 18 months now, I love it more than ever, however I'm getting extremely low fuel mileage. I've had everything fixed on it that seemed to be pre-purchased problems. New tyres, brand new computer, sensors (air, fuel, etc), leads, sparks, and the chassis is all perfect (relatively speaking). My apologies that I'm listing these figures in metric system, just because I wanted to make it exactly the way it presents. Consistently from a tank of 57 LITRES, I get a pretty meager 440 kilometers. If anyone has any advice I'd be very grateful. And just a disclaimer - my apologies if my ignorance has caused me to overlook something stupidly obvious. Thanks so much.
gbhrps
Martin, Low tire pressures, dragging brakes, plugged air filter, one or two bad fuel injectors, etc. could all add up to poor fuel mileage. If all that you say has been replaced, you need a GOOD mechanic to check out the systems I've listed, and then go over the car with a fine toothed comb. I agree, your fuel mileage is terrible, and there must be a reason.
