chumser Posted June 15, 2016 Posted June 15, 2016 Hello. My first post here. Hope someone has a hint or two, as I am out of clues. My well-kept-up low miles '94 SC400 (08/93) has started producing, now and then, a powerful smell of unburnt gasoline. But not always. I've pulled off all the black engine covers to examine injection feed components, looked at fuel tank and its lines, ditto filler tube area, and under car. Likewise carbon canister. I can find no evidence of seeping, leakage or damaged anything. The car runs fine and delivers the same MPG as before this issue. (That is, ca. 17 in city, 20-23 on road.) It recently passed Colorado emissions at nearly new levels...so it can't be malfunctioning too badly... So...I am thoroughly stumped. Any tips, gueses, suspicions will be welcome. And...if I finally do figure out what's up, I will write it up for the possible use of other owners. Thanks in advance.
