extrovert Posted April 25, 2004 Posted April 25, 2004 Okay - so it's the 300 portion of the site... but I don't see anything for the 250. I recently picked up a dirt cheap 250, that's as clean as it was when it was new... it's a great little car, but the trunk is leaking. Where it should be tight and snug, at the hinges, it's popped up high above the rest of the car. It's not leaking too badly, but it's a third car - so it's not in my garage... I'd like to keep it in good shape. Anyone know if this can be repaired? Any information you can provide will be greatly appreciated.
amf1932 Posted April 26, 2004 Posted April 26, 2004 Sounds like the trunk hinges are sprung. This can happen if while opening the trunk a strong wind makes the trunk lid open very quickly with a lot of force. An auto body shop could re-align this problem, otherwise you might be able to order new hinges from Lexus. I say, "might " because a manufacturer is not required to supply parts for a car over 7 years old. Good luck!
