pennyarcade Posted August 19, 2015 Posted August 19, 2015 2006 RX400H owner here. I got into a front end collision (replaced front bumper and hood) and ever since I got my car back from the shop, it is doing something that I don't think it did before the collision. I press the unlock button on the key fob: Once, there is no chime (no sound and lights) from the car. Driver door unlocks Twice, there is a chime (sound and lights) from the car. all doors unlock. Isn't the car supposed to chime when I hit the unlock button once to open the driver door? I hit the lock button once and all the doors lock and there is a chime. Can someone with a similar model try it out and report back?
RonRx400h Posted August 24, 2015 Posted August 24, 2015 I have the same vehicle. Here is what happens when I lock/unlock the 400h with the key fob: Lock - single chime, parking lights flash, all doors lock. Unlock (once) - double chime, parking lights flash, driver's door unlocks. Unlock (twice) - double chime, parking lights flash, all doors unlock.
maseace Posted August 24, 2015 Posted August 24, 2015 There are separate chime buzzers in the front and rear of the 400h. Maybe the collision damaged the front buzzer. By the way, the dealer can program the settings to unlock all doors with one press of the unlock button on the fob (I like it much better that way).
pennyarcade Posted August 26, 2015 Author Posted August 26, 2015 Thanks for getting back to me on this maseace and Ron
