Hot Radio/ac-unit

Hi

I have noticed that the central radio / climate control unit is rather warm on the outside.

Even if the radio is off.

Any ideas if this is normal?

ah just electronics dispersing heat. I wouldn't be concerned.

Ok. I am a simple mechanical engineer: I don't trust things becoming warmer than common sense explains.

Understand. Do you have a thermal sensing gun? I guess the warm and not hot part threw me off. My Sirius stand alone unit gets hot, quite hot but lasted for 12 years. Many unknown factors like was the car sitting in the sun and such.

No I don't have a thermal sensor gun.

I am indeed figuring out a way to measure the temp at cover level. I will keep you posted.
