billiards Posted June 12, 2015 Share Posted June 12, 2015 Hope this will help someone......v-6 has shouldered bolts on v/covers, it will not allow the cover to be tighten down enough .........and old trick we used for oil leaks......loosen bolt and wrap a cotton string around the bolt and tighten.....its works and saves hundreds of dollars..... boredazhell20 Posted July 17, 2015 Share Posted July 17, 2015 Yea I think the valve cover bolts have crush washers. If you try and do a valve cover leak job without putting some spacers between it, the bolts will never torque to spec. When I did mine I just used 2 5/16 washers for each bolt.
