97 Es300 Door Lock Issue

Hi,

Having an issue on my ES and the locking system. Driving along the car will unlock and lock itself.

Get to destination car shifted into park and pull key out the car locks itself. Cannot use the button on door to unlock have to manually push the lock near handle.

The alarm seems to working ok.

Any ideas, been searching on the forum and coming up with very little More issues on GS not this car.

I did some searching for you as well, and I'm wondering if your locking system needs to be reset.

I've found a post with the procedure, so maybe this will do it for you. Fingers crossed! Good Luck!

Sit in the driver's seat and lock all the doors.
Unlock and open the driver's door.
Insert the key into the ignition and remove it (don't turn it...just remove it).
Using the MANUAL lock switch on the driver's door, lock and unlock the door 5 times.
Close the door.
Open the door.
Lock and unlock the driver's door 5 times (I'm almost certain you use the MANUAL lock switch again, but if this sequence fails to work, try again with the power switch).
Insert the key into the ignition and turn it to the "ON" position.
Remove the key.
The driver's door will now lock and unlock itself one time.
Press and hold the "LOCK" button on the key fob for at least 1 second.
Close the driver's door.
Open the driver's door.
Press and hold the "LOCK" button on the key fob for at least one second.
Close the driver's door.
Press and hold the "LOCK" button on the key fob. The door will lock.
Press and hold the "LOCK" button on the key fob again. The door will unlock.
You should be all set.

@gbhrps Idk if thats the issue. Seemed to have no effect. It seemed to have an issue with either central locking or the alarm. I could be wrong.

I disconnected the battery and waited an hour to no change.

bump? Update I pulled fuse 36 which controls the power locks and the cycling went away.

Updated further,

Took apart drivers door, swapped out door and window switch nothing,

Was looking at the lock and the switch , didnt see much.

I am still thinking about the alarm being faulty.

Hello People,

please help.......

my window on a driver side is shaking....not closing properly, trembling ..... which is kind of a minor problem (a hitch).... yet, a real problem in fact is when I try to unlock doors.

I have a small button on my ES-300 keys, (which I use to open the car). When I press this button, all doors of the car would be unlocked automatically, except the right side / driver side door (I have to get in and open it from the inside).

I think it might be the lock motor.
The window itself looks pretty weak and does not let the door to close properly. so I need to use extra force. it just happened recently.
Do you think the lock motor or the fuse is the problem?

P.S. - WHAT does fuse 36 stand for ? do i need to try to replace it ?

Hello People, please help.......

a small button on my ES-300 Lexus keys opens 3 doors, but the front driver door. So, the driver side door remains closed.

normally it would always get unlocked automatically as soon as i press a small button on my key, but now it does not work,.

Now, I have to get in and open the door from the inside.

On the same door, the window somehow became loose and trembling. The door does not shut properly.

I think it might be the lock motor.
The window itself looks pretty weak and does not let the door to close properly. so I need to use extra force. it just happened recently.
Do you think the lock motor or the fuse is the problem?
