jks2 Posted May 22, 2014 Posted May 22, 2014 Just purchased a 2006 IS 250 AWD. Will end up being my son's car when (or if) he ever graduates from college. Currently also own a 2007 Mercedes C230 so I'm a member of a Mercedes forum. Used to own a couple of Volvo's and was a moderator on a couple of their forums. I peruse the forum and try not to ask any stupid questions.
LEX-SV Posted May 23, 2014 Posted May 23, 2014 Welcome to LOC. I too have a Lexus IS and Mercedes C-class and enjoy the contrasting qualities of the 2 cars.
jks2 Posted May 26, 2014 Author Posted May 26, 2014 Picked up the car on 5/23. It had been setting under a tree for 3 weeks so the Crystal White Pearl paint looked more like "bird !Removed! white". Filled up the tank and drove it home that night after coaching at our state track meet. The way the car tracks, handles, etc. makes it feel like a new car. Spent most of Saturday cleaning the inside (dash, doors, floors) treating the leather, followed by a good wash and wax. Other than a few little nicks from road debris and one tiny door ding, the car looks almost brand new. Car: 2006 Lexus IS250 AWD Color (Exterior): Glacier Frost Mica Color (Interior): Sterling First impressions are that it is very solid (still drives like a new car) with plenty of luxury for me. For me the 2.5 V6 is adequate for the type driving I do and will be plenty for my son when he gets it.
