PearlW
My 430 steering wheel makes a squeaky noise as it extends, especially in hot weather. Probably needs simple lube, but how do I access the lower column?
steve2006
Hello and welcome to the LOC. Simple answer..... search but seeing as you are a newbie http://us.lexusownersclub.com/forums/topic/52146-01-ls430-tilt-wheel-stuck/
PearlW
Thanks, Steve. I think I'll put up with the noise for quite a while to avoid that complicated/risky fix. I had actually searched and found that thread, but was denied access to the .pdf as I had not signed up for the club yet. It wll go better next time. landar
I know this is not a 'fix' but I always leave my steering wheel parked in as far as possible so that it does not need to extend or retract. Then I simply adjust the seat for a proper fit. It might work for you if your arm to leg ratio will allow.
