Replace License Plate Lights

Has anyone replaced their license plate light bulbs on their own? I was wondering if you need to remove the whole plastic interior of the door or can the plate light covers snap off? I want to replace mine with LED as my lights are so dim due to aging (03)

On the outer side of the license plate light. Insert a flat small screw driver gently and pull them out. The lights assembly will pop out.

Unhook the assembly from the socket for easy change.

Twist the bulb holder to pop out the bulb.

Pull the bulb out, it is not twist to open bulb.

Insert the bulb.

Just put back the assembly, and it is ready to go.
