biggest424 Posted September 26, 2012 Posted September 26, 2012 hi,i am new to this forum.i have a 1998 toyota celsior jdm or lexus ls400. having difficulty getting the car started.i have replaced fuel pump,3 cam sensors and 1 crank sensor.only getting spark sometimes.also changed the ecu. could i get info on what the fuel pressure should be.
fsuguy Posted September 28, 2012 Posted September 28, 2012 Hi, Have you checked both coils? It sounds like you have already identified a potential source for the problem. There is an easy enough check for the range of resistances within which both coils should be. You may want to check them before looking further.
landar Posted September 28, 2012 Posted September 28, 2012 On a 98', I believe you have COP (Coil On Plug) for each sparkplug rather than the two coils with distributor of earlier years?(not completely sure on a Celsior). I think the fuel pressure should be in the 45-50'ish PSI range.
Yamae Posted October 10, 2012 Posted October 10, 2012 Changed the ecu? Then you can not start the engine without writing the security data or changing the key. The immobilizer prevents to start the engine.
