nates97 ls400 Posted August 22, 2012 Posted August 22, 2012 I got a 97 ls400 and when I got it the check engine light was on. So I had the code pulled and it said the right bank cam sensor was bad. So I bought a new one, replaced the bad one and reset the computer. So after all that I start it up and runs fine. No light, all good. later that day, I got in it to take off and the check engine lights back on and it wants to die and then dose. When I try to start it Agin, it dose the same thing and doesn't want to rev. so I unplugged the cam sensor and it turns over and runs pretty good. Other then a little hesitation and longer then normal cranking when started. What dose anyone think the problem is?
landar Posted August 22, 2012 Posted August 22, 2012 It sounds like the new sensor is either 1)defective 2) wrong part for your car 3) not properly installed or came loose.
nates97 ls400 Posted August 22, 2012 Author Posted August 22, 2012 Well I know its the right one, and its installed right. I checked I many times its not loose but I'll check it one more time. The car has 278xxx miles though.
Micah.Berry Posted August 23, 2012 Posted August 23, 2012 Have you pulled the codes again? Is it the same issue? Micah
nates97 ls400 Posted August 23, 2012 Author Posted August 23, 2012 I haven't pulled the codes yet. but I will this week. I'll post what I find when I go do it.
