katford Posted August 5, 2012 Share Posted August 5, 2012 The A/C of my 1999 RX300 quit recently and a couple of hours later, the check engine light came on with a PO446 code. I'm trying to determine if these events are related and how to resolve each. If I turn the A/C on, the compressor comes on for about three seconds , then the A/c light blinks and the compressor turns off. But for the three seconds the compressor is on, the air is definately cold. Incidently, the day before the A/C quit and the check engine light came on we had the oil changed at Walmart. After reading another post, I went back to the mechanic and asked him to make sure the evaporator purge line was securely connected. He said that line and all related lines seemed securely attached.
