bronco2454
I have a question on my 1999 Lexus ES 300. I recently just bought it. The other day I drove the car and it jerked while on the highway. By jerking I mean it felt like the RPMs dropped and then went right back up. I took it to my mechanic and he said that he checked the codes and cleaned the MAF and fixed a a loose wire for the tracation control. He did not tell me the codes but assured me this would fix it. Today while driving it the car jerked again. I pulled the codes and got P1354 and P0420. My understanding is the P1354 is for the oil control valve. My question is does the symptoms seems to fit with this code? If so what is the part number for the oil control valve? Also is there any likely culprits for the P0420. Both times the car does the jerking thing the light comes on it and it runs and drives fine after. The CEL light and TRAC Off light is on. landar
I think Nestor is correct. I had a friend with the exact same year and symptoms. Turned out to be the OCV just as in the thread.
