Lx470 Ahc & Steering Question

On my wife's 2006 LX470 the ride is good & it sits level when loaded - but the other day when I was in it we couldn't get it to respond to the push button AHC....the Automatic Height Control.

It definitely doesn't automatically raise and lower when the engine is stopped.

Also the steering seems oddly abrupt and sometimes nervous at highway speed.

The suspension seems to work well on bumps, so other than the steering weirdness at highway speed it's good.

I'm starting to wonder if the AHC is stuck. Maybe in the low speed position? Maybe this is simple.. Is there some sort of manual override? Fuse? Or a control switch we are over-looking?
