TCKennett Posted February 20, 2012 Posted February 20, 2012 Hello, I'm looking for some advice. My engine liught was on in my 2006 GS300 (149,000 miles), and the dealshipo told me I need a new catalytic converter. After they replaced the CC, they called me to say that the engine light was still on and they discovered the O2 sensor was burned out and also needed to be replaced. Any chance the O2 sensor was the real problem and the CC was fine?
steviej Posted February 26, 2012 Posted February 26, 2012 hard to say without knowing what the orginal trouble codes were. It could be that the failed O2 sensor allowed too much gas fumes into the CC and thus causesd that to crap out. Sounds like the chicken and the egg conundrum. steviej
