My 1993 sc300 (50,000 miles) will not charge but alternator works (second one). I replaced serpintine belt, alt and battery. Totally perplexed I had her diagnosed and everything comes back that the ic regulator is bad. the computer diagram shows the 3 wires comming out of alt and going into and leaving ic regulator. Diagnosed this as bad because one wire in back of alt has no power (everything else eliminated(relays fuses etc) the diagnoser told me thats the culprit. where is this located??? what does it look like??? is it a type of voltage regulator??? thanks in advance for your help! shawnz

ps - just bought car and jumped another car and this is the result, mechanic told me don't ever put jumpers to a lexus, some models can't take it and things will blow and melt!

It would depend on if someone reversed the cables. I've heard stories of fried ECUs, batteries, and alternators. It could be anything at this point.
