Recommended Posts

my 94 ES300 doesn't want to shift into reverse. all other gears work. when i try and shift into reverse, i don't feel the gear move at all -no sound, no grinding, nothing. so, to try and fix the problem i am going try and reset the safety neutral switch. can anyone help me on how to go about doing that? thanks!

?????WHAT???? That's the wierdest thing I ever heard. If you move the shifter slowly past the 'R' range, does ANYTHING happen. Does 4th gear work? There is no "reset" for a neutral safety switch. Reverse gear works off of a separate clutch pack/shift solenoid from the rest of the transaxle. You probably smoked it or clogged the passages operating it.
