Rear Door Latch

I read a recent post about a member that had a broken rear door open sensor as a result of securing her rear hatch with a bungie cord in the latch gears. FYI in the future avoid the problem in the first place by attaching the top end of the cord to the pivot post of the rear window wiper assembly. It makes a secure hook and avoids messing up the latch and the sensor in the latch. The opposite end can be hooked to the U shaped hook at the door sill. Alternatively hook both end of the door lifts ( outside the edge of the rear glass on both sides ) to that lower latch assembly.
