Vick22
whenever i start my car i hear a whining noise more evident when car is cold and when i turn steering.. i tried to pin point the location and it seems like power steering pump since noise goes louder when i try to steer parked car.. so that means i need new pump? or can i change bearing in it? Mike B.
Could mean it's low on fluid. Could mean it has air in it. Could mean it's worn out. Start by checking the P/S fluid level and condition.

Mike B.
When the engine is running, remove the cap and look for signs of air bubbles/aeration.
Vick22
When the engine is running, remove the cap and look for signs of air bubbles/aeration. nothing obvious that i saw what i did is sucked fluid out of the reservoir.. and now noise is little less that means i have to change the complete fluid?? coz the fluid that came out was pretty dirty and black.. thanx for your help
Mike B.
Yes, sounds to me like you need to replace all the fluid and you need to do it soon. The whining noise is the pump grinding itself apart due to lack of proper lubrication.
