VelvetFoot
Hi! I don't have a GS300, but I'm trying to help my bro-in-law who does. The lights for nighttime illumination of the radio and shifter went out. His dealer says that a fuse kept blowing when they checked it (it was in for regular service) and that it would require a good amount of time to check the origin of the short. We determined that fuse 44 was indeed blown, but that's about it. Has anyone else come across anything similar? Any suggestions, or ideas? I am thinking that the shifter moves, so maybe there it frayed a wire. It sounds like the dealer is telling him to expect a big $ bill to go hunting for the short. Thanks. TurboGS300
start unpluging things and until the fuse doesn't blow anymore. I would start at the radio and unplug it's harness and see if the fuse blows. If so move onto the shifter!
GuyTelefunken
You're on a roll TurboGS300, that's exactly what I would suggest. I do this kind of work all day long. What year is the GS in question?
