Sc 300 Am Radio Reception Problem

After 10 years of good radio reception I now get lots of static/interference only with am stations. FM continues to work great. Antenna connection appears good. Any suggestions? Is it easy to access rear of radio to check connection? Any help/thoughts appreciated.

Could be an electrical issue. Possibly a ground gone bad or the gradual deterioration of the spark plug wires (or spark plugs themselves) now allows electrical interference to be emitted. Does the static/interference change as the engine speed changes??

Thanks for reply, I do not notice change with engine speed but if turn signal on for instance I will get static timed to it. Jim
