Windshield Replacement With Rain Sensing Wipers

I took a small rock to the windshield on the highway last week and it put a crack in the glass. This will likely result in a replacement in the near future. That will be a good thing as the original is pitted after years of driving. Will getting a new windshield screw up my rain sensing wipers? Any experiences or suggestions?

A stock replacement windshield should have no effect on the automatic rain sensing wipers. I believe the sensor is located inside the car (either on the back of the rear view mirror, or on the dash pad) and does its scanning through the glass.
