TallerMike
So the upper glove box in my 2001 LS430 won't latch. The male end, which is a metal loop inside the glovebox that the catch on the front of the door grabs broke off. The "loop" is really a "U" shape where the open ends of the "U" were welded into the glovebox somewhere. Now I was able to get a light in there and see that there is a screw which appears to be holding on a small backet (maybe 1x1 inch) that the catch was welded to, but when I removed the screw that plat won't come out, and I'm not sure it looks like it supposed to come out. Any thoughts? I saw the process for removing the glovebox on my repair manual, but I really hate removing trim because I always feel like I am going to (and sometimes do) scratch / chip / break the pieces. I can post pictures if it will help anyone.
