I have a lot of knocking noise from the engine compartment more often when coming to a stop and then idling after driving for a while. There isn't any knocking while driving. I've been told by the dealer that it is the direct fuel injectors. On a second inquiry I was told it was the dual fuel pumps. In both cases I was told it is normal. When I have people in my car they ask what that knocking noise is!!!!After driving my LS430 for 6 years with an absolutely silent engine I find this very annoying. Anyone have any suggestions?

It could very well be the direct injection. Your LS460 has two BIG differences from your LS430:

1. The LS460 is direct injection

2. The LS460 has a timing chain while the LS430 has a timing belt

Both of those will make the engine louder than it was on your 430.
