PATT1076 Posted August 10, 2010 Posted August 10, 2010 I have a lot of knocking noise from the engine compartment more often when coming to a stop and then idling after driving for a while. There isn't any knocking while driving. I've been told by the dealer that it is the direct fuel injectors. On a second inquiry I was told it was the dual fuel pumps. In both cases I was told it is normal. When I have people in my car they ask what that knocking noise is!!!!After driving my LS430 for 6 years with an absolutely silent engine I find this very annoying. Anyone have any suggestions?
SW03ES Posted August 10, 2010 Posted August 10, 2010 It could very well be the direct injection. Your LS460 has two BIG differences from your LS430: 1. The LS460 is direct injection 2. The LS460 has a timing chain while the LS430 has a timing belt Both of those will make the engine louder than it was on your 430.
