rover99 Posted August 3, 2010 Posted August 3, 2010 I have just purchased a 2006 LS 430 ML. I seem to have some wind noise which I can start to hear at around 45-50 mph. It is coming from the top of the windshield area. When I Googled this, it seems to be a common problem which is surprising given all of the road tests on the LS 430 which suggest almost no wind noise at all. I found a thread on another site which suggested that the noise originates from the top molding where the rubber touches the top part of the windshield glass just below the chrome strip. Further more it was suggested that this could be proven by taping the area where the rubber touches the glass across the full width of the windshield and going for a test drive. I may try that this next weekend, but meanwhile I would be interested to know if anyone else has solved this issue and how
SW03ES Posted August 3, 2010 Posted August 3, 2010 Are you certain the car has the original windshield glass? This is common after a poor windshield replacement...
rover99 Posted August 3, 2010 Author Posted August 3, 2010 Is it like this sound? Yes I think so, I would describe it as a general turbulence type of noise. Were you able to solve it?
Will B. Posted August 4, 2010 Posted August 4, 2010 Oh, I'm not talking about the "turbulence" noise - that's always been with the car and doesn't bother me. I was talking about that whistling noise, which I've never solved.
