rikardo82 Posted April 30, 2015 Posted April 30, 2015 I just learned how you can turn off the Traction Control system on an RX 400h: 1. Switch the car off, then switch it on without (ready) light. 2. While on P, press the gas pedal 4 times. 3. Shift to N, press the gas pedal 4 times. 4. Shift to P again, press gas pedal 4 times. 5. Switch the car to ready and drive (at your own risk) without computer controlled wheels! The next time you start the car it will be back to normal again. Waaat... is this really working? Anyone tested this? haa yeah works like charm today I tested at beach in sand first went normally and honestly was pretty nervous and thought I will not get back car struggled massively with stupid traction control. Then using this method switched VSC off and car showed AWD maintenance mode, then went again same route and it was much more fun :) get out very easily of course... I just hope I don't do any harm with this not sure what exactly mean AWD maintenance mode?
rikardo82 Posted April 30, 2015 Posted April 30, 2015 also is there fuse for traction control? We could pull off just fuse and that's it??? and then put it back when all good.

I have a RX400H 2007 and I have been trying this trick for several times but no luck so far :( Could someone please tell me what this means "1. Switch the car off, then switch it on without (ready) light." I'm not sure how to do this since every time I start the car the ready light is already on? Perhaps I'm just stupid but I would really need to figure this out since where I'm living we have a lot of snow. Thanks already for your help!

It means that you turn the key only until it's in the "on" position, not all the way to "start". If you see "ready" on the display you have turned too far.

Strange, it's the first time I have heard that it's not working. I'm in Sweden and it works for me. You should fully push and fully release the gas pedal each time.

Now I realised that you don't have to do that if you keep the stick to the very right. Tusen tack!
Got2bnu Posted October 17, 2016 Posted October 17, 2016 This work for me 06 rx400h awd, gen 2 Prius 1: turn ignition ON no brake, key or button.2: press and hold brake whole process 3: press gas pedel to floor twice4: put car in nutral, press gas pedel to floor twice. 5: put car in park, press gas pedel to floor twice. 6: foot still on brake, start the car key or button. then release brake and you are doneresets itself when car is turned off

If you press gas pedal 2 times that front wheel drive only. And 4 times in OP is awd mode. I have awd 400h so not sure it the rear electric modors would deplete battery quickly if doing donuts or stuff in snow Anyone have any experience? Thanks,
Zingymantella23 Posted December 14, 2019 Posted December 14, 2019 I have owned my 06 RX400H for the past 5 years. It sucks not being able to power out of a turn when you understeer because of the dam TCS. I will give this a try later today. Time to take the hybrid drifting!
