I have a 1993 Lexus SC300 that I need to replace the thermostat on. I have followed the upper radiator hose to the water inlet and am trying to remove the inlet casing to get at the thermostat but am having the hardest time. I have removed the upper nut and the lower bolt but still the housing won't come off. There is a tiny bit of up and down play but I can't pull it out. I am beginning to wonder if I am even looking in the right place.

Can anyone please tell me how to remove the thermostat on my SC300? I am really starting to get frustrated.

Help!
