maner Posted March 29, 2010 Posted March 29, 2010 I have a 93 sc300 with a transmission problem that is intermittent. No check engine light has come on. The tranny will jump in and out of over drive and sometimes fourth gear. but this doesnt happen everytime i drive it. It almost seems as if the weather has something to do with it, but im sure thats just a coincidence. This has been going on for some time. For the past month it has driven perfectly normal but just this morning it acted up again. And then on the way home from work....nothing. Any ideas??? Let me know if im not giving enough info, something you can think of that might help diagnose.
VigorousBrando Posted April 11, 2010 Posted April 11, 2010 Just throwing it out there...have you checked the transmission fluid level before you've driven it by any chance? I recall having a slipping problem of my own after performing a transmission flush, and it was instantly fixed by adding a little more T-IV fluid when I got back from my test drive. If your trans acts up every single morning, maybe the temperature outside in the morning is influencing things. If it's below freezing, maybe the liquids are getting thicker and leading to your problems. I have a 93 sc300 with a transmission problem that is intermittent. No check engine light has come on. I TOOK IT TO THE LEXUS DEALER AND THEY TOLD ME THAT THE PROBLEM IS NOT THE TRANSMISSION, IS THE SPEED CLUSTER PANEL AND A NEW ONE COST A FORTUNE. I RESOLVE THE PROBLEM DISCONECTING THE SPEEDOMETRE CABLE IN THE TRANSMISSION. BEFORE THAT TOOK OF THE NEGATIVE CABLE OF THE BATTERY TO RESET THE COMPUTER, AFTER TAKING THE CABLE CONECT IT AND DRIVE THE CAR NORMALY TO SEE IF IT WORK. GOOD LUCK...
