holden Posted September 13, 2009 Posted September 13, 2009 Hello. The theft deterrent on our 90 LS400 has started arming and goes off when unlocking the driver side door. We then have to unlock the passenger side door to cancel. Annoying. Notes: - Generally we use the driver side power lock switch to lock the doors. Using the key to lock the driver side door doesn't power lock the other doors anymore. - We also only use our valet key. - Remote key switch is OFF though it does work. - Our master key has been having insertion difficulty in the driver side door lock so we stopped using it. - We've tried disconnecting the battery to reset(?) ... still arms. Any ideas on permanently turning off the theft deterrent? Or, a fix ... could it be a faulty/dirty driver side door switch/lock? TIA
RDM Posted September 15, 2009 Posted September 15, 2009 Sounds like the driver side key cylinder is damaged, or the switch itself is broken or worn. You can pull the door panel and inspect it from inside but you may have to completely pull the cylinder and handle to really know for sure.
