newbie_lexus_es300lover
hello all, I'm new here and need some knowledge about my wonderful car. I recently bought this Lexus ES300 and was loving it until my check engine light came on! I took it to an auto shop that told me the codes were an EGR malfunction, but they could not tell me exactly what they were. At first i thought I'd needed a new EGR valve or a new EGR sensor but then, looking under the hood, I saw this vacuum line going from the EGR valve to under the manifold cover with a check valve of some sort in between. Well the check valve was broken on one end probably not sending a signal to the EGR, setting off the check engine light? I have checked many auto part stores with no success, is this a part i can only get at a Toyota dealer? Or is it a simple generic check valve i can buy? any part name or number or location i can get would be greatly appreciated, thank you for any help you can give. http://s69.photobucket.com/albums/i75/He4l...nt=IMG_0342.jpg http://s69.photobucket.com/albums/i75/He4l...nt=IMG_0343.jpg
camlex
that is nothing but vacuum tube. the big round piece is hollow cylinder. Lexus or toyota dealer will sell you for $26. Try using direct vacuum tube. Go to orially, autozone. Hope that helps. Reason you have CEL. because of that vac. tube goes to EGR.

If it is hollow i will directly connect the vacuum tube and see what that does , Thankyou
