Navigation Night Mode

I have a 03 GX470 with GPS (I think Gen 2/3). GPS screen used to turn on the night mode (brown background, white roads) when it got dark, but it doesn't do it anymore (perhaps some setting I touched)

I tried different options in the menu, but nothing restored that night mode setting.

Does any one know who to turn on the night display mode?

Same thing happened to my 2007 GX 470. I checked the owner's manual and on my car it had to so with the interior dash light setting. My car has a dial on the dash to the left of the steering wheel- apparently I had turned it all the way on which then disabled the night mode. Check you owner's manual and see if it's the same feature.
