selector Posted February 27, 2009 Share Posted February 27, 2009 So my wife is driving a friend home in our '08 RX350 and stops outside her friend's house chatting. She turns the ignition off but not fully so only 1 or 2 notches but definitely not fully off. After 15 mins or so the car complete shuts off so there is no power at all and the car won't start. Its like the battery is completely dead. She ends up having to jump start it. When she gets home I take it out and its fine so can't believe it was the battery. The car had just been serviced and they had said the battery was fine. So I suspect it has something to do with not fully turning the car off and leaving it with the key turned 1 or 2 notches. Is there a protection mechanism on the basis it thinks the keys have been left in the car? Anyone had this before? Obviously I have told my wife about chatting and told her to leave the ignition fully off or leave the car running in future! Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
