Condensation In Cabin

Recommended Posts

While changing O2 sensor (bank 2 sensor 2), I had to pull back the carpet from the passenger side floor of the car. I noticed the padding under the carpet wet (pint or so) and mildew stained. Though the grommets (2) were all in their respective places, I lifted the rubber mat in the upper half of this passenger side well and noticed condensation from the white nylon piping in top section going outside the car through a 3/4 inch rubber pipe. The other end of this pipe is hanging free close to the passenger side firewall.

This rubber pipe could be pulled back into the cabin. I then put a hose clamp at this junction. I then fed the other end back through the rubber grommet in the well to go outside.

I hope this dries my cabin and help with the musty smell during summer. I'll also try switching off the A/C a mile or two before reaching my destinations, so the outside air can evaporate the condensation of A/C. :D
