Alexander the o.k. Posted June 28, 2008 Posted June 28, 2008 Had the entire a/c system replaced 3 years ago, but it has a slow leak in/ near the evap, as near as I can figure. The shop was unwilling to repair, as it held a charge most of the summer, and by the time I discovered it they said "out of warranty". Nice. Google to the rescue. Read up on it, and I see conflicting advice everywhere. It is a Hydrocarbon (HC) blend (read propane blend) that is compatible -supposedly- with all refrigerant oils. R-22, 12, 134 etc and is epa neutral, I think. No epa license required to purchase or install. Higher flash point than 134a. I see a lot of fluff on their website. The question is, has anyone here had experience with it, and does it work as advertised. Will use it in my home system as well if it works as stated. I think dura-cool and some others are HC blends as well, so if you've used those R12, R-22 replacements please let us all know how it went.
