Es300 Cel/trac Off Lights On And Engine Knock

Hi All,

I have this 2000 ES300 for over 2 years and here are my problems, any thoughts and help are really appreciated:

1. I had Check Engine Light/Trac Off lights came on when I bought the car 2 years back. I used to reset the battery connection and the lights go off every time I do it. Untill last June 07, there is no engine knock.

2. Now I have noticed when the car is warmed up and I am riding uphill there is engine knock. Overdrive on/off works even when there is engine knock. If I just start the car and ride uphill its fine, but when the engine temp is up it knocks. I replaced all spark plugs 2 years ago with Denso plugs. CEL/Trac Off comes when I am accelerating.

Could anyone suggest anything based on similar experience? What should I do? Am I looking into spending 1000+?
