mhathcock
Here's a question that could benefit all sooner or later (if I can find an answer). I have learned that most vehicles 1996 and after are what manufacturers call "odbII". But, what about pre-96? If you are odbII compatible, you will have the normal 16-pin connector under the dash below the steering wheel. But, what about older Asian vehicles including 1st Gen GS's? What do we do for diagnostics without paying the hefty dealer prices? Almost everyone and their brother sells pc or palm based diagnostic software for 1996 and newer vehicles. They are a dime a dozen. Does anyone know what engine management system is run on my 1994 GS300?!! And if you do, can you tell me where to get pc based software for diagnostics and tuning? I want to use my laptop to diagnose the engine management systems when I make repairs and possibly tune when I make upgrades (if this is possible). I hope there are some techs out there reading this. Thanks Guys! Matt Hathcock Hathcock Kreations Mhathcock@Hotmail.com
