finallygot1 Posted March 18, 2008 Posted March 18, 2008 Hi, my daughter purchased a pre-owned 2004 RX330 with 46,000 miles. It went out of 4 yr warranty 2 months ago. There is a problem with the air suspension, the off light keeps flashing, the dealer said it is probably a height sensor. In the course of discussion with the previous owner, he stated that it had been back to the dealer for this and they couldn't find anything. I contacted the dealer and they stated that the vehicle had been in for the suspension problem, but they couldn't find anything. Now they want me to bring it in for an out of warranty repair. My two issues are, if they couldn't fix it the first time, why will they be able to now, and do you people think there is any chance getting Lexus to help with the repair as it was diagnosed and not repaired by thier dealer when the vehicle was still covered. Thanks in advance
Step Hen Posted March 18, 2008 Posted March 18, 2008 Your best bet IMO would be to contact Lexus Customer Care and see if they can work something out with you. Explain the situation like you did on the board here, and see if they're willing to work on this gratis for customer appreciation, or if you can get them to cover just parts or just labor. If the dealer has it on record that the previous owner did bring in the car for the same reason (light was flashing) but they couldn't find anything wrong, that will bolster your case, but it all depends on how they want to take care of it. Remember, try to present the case where you, a loyal Lexus owner, was wondering if they could do something they don't HAVE to do, but rather would WANT to do for one of their customers. Sounds like they just reset the warning and it went away from the info you got from the previous owner.
kevinmary Posted October 9, 2009 Posted October 9, 2009 You should be very careful with the dealor. there are many dealor who simply bluff customer.
